Why do we instinctively reach for colour when spring springs?
As the days grow longer and the sunlight softens, something shifts - not only in nature, but within us.
The buds open, the air feels lighter, and suddenly, black and white feel… incomplete.
Colour transforms. Not just our surroundings, but our energy, our focus, and yes - our wardrobes.
Spring invites us to embrace brightness, variety, and contrast. Vibrant prints can lift our mood, while soft, serene tones help us feel centered and composed. It’s no wonder colour psychology has long been part of how we design clothing that feels as good as it looks.
I was recently reminded of this at the Flowers of Yves Saint Laurent exhibition. He didn’t just use flowers as motifs - he understood them. Their structure, their joy, their drama. His designs translated petals into silhouette, embroidery into movement. Colour became a language of emotion. His garments felt like poetry in motion.
So as the season turns, let’s lean into the palette that nature offers us. Let’s dress not just to be seen - but to feel alive.
Here's to colour, creativity, and the quiet power of change.
